The Storks are really enjoying the new 'Talk for Writing' unit in English lessons. The children are learning actions to imitate the key language needed to tell stories orally before they try reading and analysing them. Through these fun activities they will rehearse the tune of the language they need, which will be followed by shared writing to show them how to craft their writing, in the same style.
Here we can see the children telling the story of the Little Red Hen. They are using actions for the key language: once upon a time, early one morning, who.
Now, we can see the children also using the actions for time connectives: first, then, next, finally.
What an amazing job you all did of remembering and retelling that story. Thank you for sharing your videos with us!
ReplyDeleteStorks this is amazing! I love the way you are learning talk for writing, being able to tell a good story is a great skill. I really enjoyed watching these videos, when the Larks are retelling stories using actions I will show them this amazing video as a great example.
